You know what ?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sharad Pawar categorically denied that the sacking of former skipper Sourav Ganguly from the Indian squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka, was influenced by the Board.
"Selection of players is the sole discretion of the selection committee and we have nothing to do with it ," Pawar said.
Ganguly was yesterday dropped from the Test side despite his decent performance in the Delhi match only to be replaced by Mumbai opener Wasim Jaffer, which gave rise to the speculation that the decision was influenced by the BCCI top brass most of whom hail from the West Zone.
Hearing this news in NDTV, there was a sudden rattling noise all around the room. It was something disgusting.I turned to find where that sound ( in fact noise ) came from. I was pretty surprised to see the picture there. It was my bedroom door screeching (which it should've thought as laughing) and giggled " Boss! you humans are just rocking".
Back through three years, I had a passion towards this journalism in India which is more and more challenging with the sort of politicians available here. And I always thought it would be still gleeful if it is related to filmdom. But it is this Indian sports politics that has it's own (to be specific),one of it's own kind climaxes even Hitchcock will dare to attempt in his films.First it was with the Indian hockey.
Differences between India hockey coach Rajinder Singh and captain Dhanraj Pillay came out in the open, when the two got engaged in a heated verbal duel soon after the team landed in Chennai from Kuala Lumpur, where it won the Asia Cup after beating Pakistan 4-2 in the final. The celebrations at the airport were marred by confusion, while the press conference in a city hotel later witnessed the row between the two, as Pillay, who was surrounded by reporters and cameramen, was reprimanded by the coach for talking to the media.Peeved at Rajinder Singh's attempt to stop him from giving interviews, Pillay shouted back at the coach, saying, "I am speaking on behalf of the team. I am not seeking any publicity for myself."
It is clearly visible that dhanraj pillay needs some extraordinary potions from Harry porter to revive the lucks back so as to join the national hockey team.
Again it happened to poor Sania mirza. Being an INDIAN woman, she has achieved something extraordinary in a sport which requires only her to perform and not in a group of 5,7,11 odd people. She is at present at no.34 in the world rankings, if I'm not wrong. It surely requires an effusive character towards her sport.
According to press reports, she walked out of a press conference in Kochi "in a huff" when faced with persistent questions about what she thought of the Kushboo controversy". Sania was in the city to endorse a line of jewellery. Instead, predictably, when the media met her, the questions had nothing to do with jewellery, or even with tennis at which she has excelled, but her views on an issue that has blown so out of proportion that the original context has been forgotten. For once, she made a sound decision to hold back her opinion on this or any other unrelated subject.
During another later discussion, Sania did not make any comments about pre-marital sex, according to Vir Sanghvi who was moderating the discussion. What she did speak on, in her usual forthright manner, was about the length of her skirt on the tennis court. On this she was quoted as saying, "As long as I am winning, people should not care whether my skirt is six inches long or six feet long.(For detailed news on this section visit http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/mag/2005/11/27/index.htm) . She got be applauded for how she behaved in that situation. But unfortunately,it is really sad that Sania backtracked into her usual defense about being a good Muslim.
Now it is again dada's turn. I understand that I'm addressing a mass who hates ganguly for playing for his own scores instead for his country, for making ego clashes with sachin, for being a bully by making his presence in the team even through bad scores, by spatting clashes with the new coach and the list continues. But what even sambhit bal, one of the famous cricket analysts cannot accept, is the way the captain is treated. Here is a list of things what happened to add to whole of the controversy.
After the captain-coach spat that happened in Zimbabwe (here, I do accept that ganguly digged his own grave by starting the controversy), they both were made aware that they should work together for the better future of their team. Then Ganguly could not make himself available for the champion's trophy due to an finger injury and due to this, he was not included in the team and his captaincy was stripped and given to dravid for the two new series (Srilanka,S-Africa).Everything went good as the team won the first two matches most empathetically and hence the winning combination was not disturbed for the next five matches and by this time India has won the series 6-1.
Ganguly wasn't picked for the first three matches of the S-Africa series. The Selector's meeting to select the ODI team for the last two ODIs was to be held on one specific day and for some reasons unknown, it was deferred by a day.The delay had ensured that Sourav Ganguly was compelled to go to Pune to play a Ranji Trophy match for Bengal against Maharashtra and thereby automatically ruling him out of the remaining ODI games against South Africa, including the game at Kolkatta.
To pacify and placate the Eden Gardens and the Kolkotta crowd , the selectors announced the Test team ( curiously enough, only for the first Test ) and included Sourav Ganguly's name on the day before the kolkotta match. To some extent, the Kolkottans , hurt and angry, were mollified. The first match in Chennai was disrupted and the fame goes to Mr..Baaz.Unable to kick him out of the camp, the selectors had ganguly's name in the squad and ganguly performed better not only to his standards but to the standards of any cricket player playing at no.6. In the first innings, he scored 40 and added a valuable 100 odd runs partnership with sachin. Even in the second innings he made 39 and again made 90 odd runs partnership with Yuvraj.Very very unfortunately, he couldn't convert them into statistical scores.
Now, he has been removed and replaced with wasim jaffer. Have you ever heard in hockey when a goalkeeper is replaced with a forward ? Again it happens only in Indian cricket which unluckily has a former CM of a state as the president of it's board. And except for the chairman of the selectors, two of them in the panel hasn't played even a single international match and the remaining two has played 2 and 7 international matches. It can be argued that it doesn't need cricketing experience to select a fit cricketer and to those I can reply fittingly that why isn't zaheer khan, balaji not selected and it will go the COFFEE BITE way.
If selection is based on figures and performances, don't you remember the bad patch sachin had and the baaaaaaad patch dravid had ? For those who hate making this issue sensational , I've got only this to say "Ganguly has surely has got the right to make his own exit."
