Elections 2006

What is the hottest and much hyped question in tamilnadu ?
Who will be the next CM ? (or) Which party will win the elections ?

For those who couldn't find minimum six differences between these two questions, sorry you are not allowed to read this blog further as you are unaware of the election twists and turns in tamil nadu elections.

Of course the answer for the first question could be only mutiple choice with not more than three options. (A) Jaya (B) Kalignar (C) Vijaykanth . Though the last option by itself seems to be stupid, i still want to add another option (D) Vaiko.

Well, jokes apart (?!), it will be a contest between AIADMK alliance parties or DMK alliance parties.

What are their powers and drawbacks of these two rival camps ?
What are their chances to victory ?

Here's an anlaysis. Well, as usual before that let me disclaim that all illustrations and details given are based on my personal view.


1) Government employees problem

It will be sure this sect of people- Government employees will vote against this present govenment for it's inustice caused towards them.Sun T.V will take care to that they telecast all the mid-night arrests of the employees. How arrogant ? They never gave the allowances, and the promised bonus and when helding protests and strikes for that they got arrested.

Vote for D.M.K

But, if you are a common middle class man who need to come through the various government offices in your daily life then, you should be in a different mood. THE SURELY DESERVE IT. (O**A!! Enna akramam panranga da). SBI, railway station, R.T.O,R.D.O, Voter id . Oh my goodness, how many places have my resolutoins for non-bribery have been shattered.

Vote for A.D.M.K

2) VAIKO

Promising that he will stay in the UPA and then two days later he jumped to the enemy camp. What a treachery ? Now he states that it was not a good decision of Mrs. Sonia gandhi to resign both of her PROFIT psts. Isn't it an act of a chameleon? He depicted the jaya government to be a fascist government and now he ally with her.

Vote for D.M.K

What do you want vaiko to do ? To carry the palnquin with other alliance partners for the karunanidhi family. When a not-so popular national prty gets more than 40 seats , do they not deserve at least the same number if not more than them ? He was also frank on the fact of the main reason for his removal from the alliance: WHEN IT COMES TO THE PARTY'S GROWTH OR PRINCIPLES, THE GROWTH SHOULD BE GIVEN PRIORITY. He has also given past exampls of periyar, anna.It is the D.M.K that wants to create a rift of this normal political move.

3) Sankaracharyar arrest

"Oh god! what am i witnessing ? is it true that those places where i found the true spirituality were actually places where all treachery, lust, bribery took place ? I don't believe it. It is a low level politics which Miss Jaya took for the appeal of the non-brahmin community. She wanted to show that she does not have a real affinity towards them.

Vote for D.M.K

"That's really unbelievable !! She has no real difference veerapan or sankaracharyar. The culprit should be punished besides their status or their image."

Vote for A.D.M.K

4) Tsunami

Well, D.M.K will hit the scndals and the deaths happened due to the carelesness of the officials and A.D.M.K will hit the D.M.K 's behavior of doing politics in people's deaths.

It will be clearly visible from the points that Miss.Jaya has played her part to a good extent. She does not have got herself engaged in any corruption cases as it happened in 1996 elections. It was in her rule that veerapan got killed and she

• bought water through the veeram project.
• successfuly implemented the rain water harvesting in the drought chennai.
• has almost everyone single, simple parties in her alliance.
• have abolished lottery in chennai
• has got many cine stars to handle the D.M.K's campaign beerangis
• appealed kollywood by bringing anti-piracy act.

What the D.M.K has against is the way in which the ban of animal sacrifice and the ban of religion chane was implemented before the parlimentary elections and revoked after it. On all , D.M.K has one of the most important weapon. It is the anti-incumbency wave. If there is no tickets for the noon show, blame it on the goverment.

The ball is still on the court. Let us wait for the match to get over.

Thalapathy - Karnan Connect?

That may sound odd and some of you may ask this question to be discarded as "OUT OF SYLLABUS". But wait, it really has some in fact, more connections. Another excavation jointly done by me and poli is given here in detail.

1) What does the relation between Surya and Deva potray ?
What does the relation between Karnan and Dhuriyodhanan potray ?

Ans: Friendship (Aalamana natpu)

2) How are Dhuriyodhana and Mamooty (Deva) potrayed ?

Ans: "Goondas" or "Nuisances" to the society.

3) Who is the father of Karnan?
What is the name of Rajini in thalapathy ?

Ans: Surya.

4) By what means are Rajini(in thalapathy) and karnan born ?

Ans: Illegal sex.

5) How does the mothers of karnan and rajini send away their kids ?

Ans: By keeping them in a wooden box and sailing them away.

6) How are the roles of arjuna and arvindsamy (real brother of arjuna) potrayed ?

Ans: Going by the rules of government

Also, in both the epics the mother seeks promise from rajini and karnan that there should be no harm done to arvindsamy and arjun accordingly.

Let us stop the mapping here. I never even thought of this when i saw this film on screen. To be honest, i never knew who is Mani rathnam at that time. All i knew was i'm going to witness "Thalaivar's" film and it was a matter to boast about to see rajini's film in the opening week's shows.

So, i can never correlate whether mani had scripted his own from karnan. But there are really too many to be taken as coincidence. Taking into consideration that he has borrowed the real script, it is not at all a shame, for the way the film was directed. It had all the things for a film to be smashing hit and for a film to be dubbed in many regional languages and yet it was appelaing the 'A' class-section of the audience who needed intelligence and grace in every frame.

You can never have a better collage with P.C.Sriram, Illaiyaraja,Vairamuthu and Mani rathnam.

James bond - The name need not have any relevance with bonding

Ever seen "James paandu" tamil movie ? Though advertised and projected as a comedy movie, the film never soothed the comic sense of the audience nor did it heaten up the box-offices. Well,this is a new James bond comedy. Hope everyone knew about Mr.Daniel craig., O.K O.K., at least let me hope that you know that he is the latest Bond. If no. then know it.

Everytime there comes a news about Bond, comes with it news for both good and bad reasons. This is a particularly bad news for Mr.craig. Not gifted with the appeal or the beauty, he is now instantly hated and there is a new site for scolding him and to reveal to the world trhat he is not fit for the job.

Even Bharathiyar is fond of Dumb chardes

Well, When this man bharathiyar wrote "Pudhiya Aathichoodi", he would never been aware of this ever-cool game "Dumb-charades". He has quoted "Seigaiyil porul unar". I don't know what was the context he wrote it. But,it simply means "Understand by the actions".(Though there is no need to explain, i'm bound to disclaim that the "Action" here does not have any reference to Puratchi kalaignar Vijayakanth or Arjun)

Well, what he should've really meant should be "Do not waste words. Talk and understand just by the actions". But it did not stop me from remembering those days when i "moneyed" from Dumb-c in various culturals. I'm not a excellent mimer and to be humble, i'm not even a good guesser(of what the mimer mimes). But when it came to a close circle of my friends to be my Dumb-c partners, it was never so easy. The mind-set was so clear that i can see their thoughts from his actions. Some times, even the mere smile in my or their face got us record-timings.(The only sad part was "Guiness" or "Limca" never accepted as the words were variant and not constant.)

I'm addicted to such level that no other choices comes out of my mouth, when it comes to office trips where there were times to kill. Very recently, we attempted another innovation. When me and my roommates went for swimming on a weekend, we tried Underwater-Dumb-c. Rules should be clear by this time.

Whoever reads this blog, try it when you go underwater (with your friends).

Is this the height of show off? Is there no stopping of these girls ?

Ennada ithu.. Romba overa irukku. ?
It is at a point when my adrenalin reaches it's new height, i write in tamil. Today is International Women's day. What is the need of this? Yes, women of all standards, all over the world struggle just to live crossing various hurdles throughout their life.

They have world's mother's day. So, this should be for those spinsters and for those who are yet to get pregnant and for those poor widows and "Kaimpens". Is that so? As an engineer, i can't come to any other point. No one in this earth can defy the reason why mother's day is celebrated. They give birth to human life (i'm avoiding the usual 10 months dialogue here) and take care of their kids and family. There may be some characters that differ from that of a true mother. On a whole scenario, that day has a reason to be if not celebrated, at least remember that true mom's love.

So, it is narrowed that this is more specifically for those women other than mother.Hope i do not need any X or Y to explain this logic. Now, as a non-male chauvinist i ask you the remainig women, What are those beautiful reasons for you to celebrate this day? (As i was writing this, some girls tried to bribe me with a cake(with cashew nuts., yummie). But i'm not from the paramparai of Ettapan. Those who didn't understand it, nothing important ,Leave it yaar).O.K coming to the point, Why do you need this IWD?

I'm not going to ask like Veera pandiya katta bomman whether you came to the fields,whether you planted plantains. What i arrive on the whole fuss is that "this is just another type of your species' trait SHOWING OFF ". Some even try to make it justified by doing public awareness programs or feeding the poor or the disabled. Again, i ask the same question. Why do you do it on this IWD ? The question will easily filter to it's parent. "what is it's need?".

Even the father of our nation, never seperated women and i'm sure if he had been alive today, he would never've supported this IWD. Why can't you mix with the men ? You want a seperate full lane of seats in the buses.Not all men are rogues. You are given with a seperate police station. You are not caught when three of your species go together in a two-wheeler. (The driver is not caught even if the two-wheeler goes with a single man and two women.Ennada nyayam ithu.) You are asked to pay a little tax and when you grow older, it becomes littler and don't forget many are fighting for your compulsory 33% attendance in the parliament. You get a special reason throughout the law.(On a divorce,till the kid becomes a major, it has to live with it's mother.However cruel she is or however good it's dad is).Even Lord YAMA gives you special rights.Thank god , there is no specific quota for you in the normal educational system or any other reservations.(This is upto my knowledge. Never knew whether you have all those).

But of course, celebration is it just to elate yourself for an effort or to the maximum an acheivement you've made.Why do you want to show that you are celebrating? That too., all in sarees.. I can't escape from admitting that you look still more beautiful in this new dress.But, are you some sort of cheer girls who dress differently :-) to show that they are cheering ?

As in another blog i've mentioned, I'm sincerely not a male chauvinist. You may take this as either a desclaimer or a plea for girls not to avoid me.

Vaiko: A perfect spoilt poor chap in dirty TN politics

What Sun T.V showed on the evening news (about Vaiko's departure from D.M.K alliance and joining back with A.I.A.D.M.K) was certainly a good old trick of D.M.K media, exaggeration. Though an amaeturish collage of the way Vaiko made contradicting alliances and statements, it picturised what the elocutionist has been saying throughout the A.I.A.D.M.K tenure of 5 years.

Many of you should've watched Iruvar. It is another masterpiece of Manirathnam which depicts the life of two friends, a politician Prakash raj and an actor-turned politician Mohanlal. The film though starts with the usual disclaimer that all the characters in the film are fictious, everyone knows that it is the tale of M.G.R(Played by mohanlal) and karunanidhi(Prakash raj). In one particular scene, in a public meeting, the audience will be spellbound by prakash raj ( an extraordinary tamil orator)'s speech. When Mohanlal arrives late to the meeting, the whole crowd goes behind Lal. The highlight of this scene is the expression in prakash raj's face and BGM by rehman(I heard that music recently in "Thavamai Thavamirundhu" when the hero looks at the obscene posters in the hostel). From here, prakash raj, jealous of lal's fame inside the party throws him out of the party and lal starts a new party and lands in becoming the C.M.

Wait, Wait, why is this unwanted interlude? The reason is the scene is to narrate you that this was how Vaiko was sent out of D.M.K. Vaiko went out and made a party M.D.M.K, but couldn't do anything better, hence he shifted as a partner in various alliances.I'm not going to give of list of when all vaiko shifted alliance,what led vaiko each time to do that, how many seats he won each time. But looking from an amateur (who watches TN politics closely) point of view, let me try to analyse where has vaiko reached till now.

When vaiko was dismissed from D.M.K (citing reasons that he supported L.T.T.E), seven of his supporters immolated their lives by setting fire to themselves. Vaiko's house had the potraits of those party patriots at all times ., (When he had alliance with A.D.M.K or D.M.K). When he was in the D.M.K alliance and when he was asked whether those seven sacrifices has gone in vain, he gave an answer " There are no permanent enemies or permenant friends in politics". What a majestic answer?

In present Jaya govt,vaiko was arrested in airport ,when he returned from a foreign trip. They again cited the same old reasons "Support for L.T.T.E". When asked by the reporters about the arrest, Vaiko elocuted in his trademark manner "We will fight to decline this fascist Jaya government".Just four days before forming the alliance with Jaya, Vaiko's mother said in an interview that "My son will not join Jaya alliance, even if she offers 100 seats"(The total TN assembly seats in 234). When asked about the contradictions , Vaiko replied " We are talking positively and there is no looking back"? Again, a fitting reply.

The reasons what political geniuses give for vaiko's decision is the disrespect shown to the party from D.M.K side. Just like the Kiran more's statement, why did they wait till the election to make this decision.Vaiko on the whole has earned a better respect from the masses for his
1) extraordinary elocutional skills .Rajni once whistled for his speech in the Illayaraja's
"Thiruvasagam" casette release.
2) Politeness to the media. Never has avoided questions .Leave the stupid replies he gives for
forming alliaces.
3) Political Decency . He never went to stage nasty protests whn he was jailed under POTA.

But all these aspects may not save the political dignity of this man , i guess.
